  • If my gf told me ...

If my gf told me she had an std, i would dump her on the spot. There is no way i would put myself in danger of infecting myself with something highly contagious as HPV which condoms cannot protect against (it only requires skin contact) and infecting my future gf or wife. No thanks.

btw, My gf had two strains, so I probably did too, but she's been clear for some time, I assume I am too, but as a male, i'll never freaking know.

I'm sorry for attacking you, but i'm sick of people scaring others when practically the entire population comes into contact with several strains over their lives and never know. Judging from your name, you're probably new to this and have only paid attention to the misfinformation out there and have become scared shitless. The CDC is your friend.

  • How about you you ...

How about you you look at the info and see that 80% of the population gets this, perhaps higher, and they clear it. This virus has been with mankind since we started fucking.

Hopefully you're not in the very small number of people that experience complications, but stop fucking scaring people already! Why are you thinking worst case scenario? Surgery should be your last option, go see a better doctor.

  • i totally agree; to ...

i totally agree; to compare hpv or any other std to the common cold, strep throat, the flu or whatever else is not sexually transmitted is ridiculous. i also have hpv and have become so depressed about this and someone i had been with while knowing i was infected continues to sleep w/others w/out telling them he could be infected or w/others that simply think this is something they would have come in contact w/anyways bc it is so common... i don't take this as lightly...

research Lymerix and the CDC in bed with Pharma.. and WHAT HAPPENED TO THOSE THAT GOT THAT VACCINE!

Listen. I am the guy who argued venhemently with my Daughter N law a few years ago because she wouldn't vaccinate. I still think some vaccines are worth the risk.. this gardisil likely is not one of them.

  • Also, the vaccine ...

Also, the vaccine doesn't have the whole virus in it, just proteins found on the surface of HPV. Your immune system learns to recognize these proteins so if it encounters the actual HPV, it knows how to fight it off. Since the vaccine doesn't have the whole virus, your risk won't go up even if you already have one type of HPV. All it will do is protect you against the other types.

  • Risk doesn't go up. ...

Risk doesn't go up. Gardasil is still recommended by the National Cancer Institute, FDA, American Cancer Society, etc.. for people who have HPV. These are organizations NOT affiliated with the drug company. It's important when looking at the info to know who is funding it, I agree. Anyone can come up w/ a name that sounds like they have authority on the subject. That's why the internet is good and bad...anyone can put up false info. But, the organizations I listed don't have a hidden agenda

  • Siriana, But make ...

Siriana, But make SURE you do not already have HPV... I read where the risk of Cerivical Cancer goes UP(!) dramatically if you get the vaccine but already have the virus. Remember, $1,000,000,000 to $3,000,000,000 to be made by the manufacturer if this becomes mandatory nation wide. That kind of money will buy a lot of truth stretching. Lymerex was a Lyme vaccine that was taken off of the market... caused HORRIBLE Rhuematoid and worse... the maker lied and said there was no interest!

Because the vaccine protects against the 2 strains that cause more than 70% of cervical cancer. So even though the vaccine only protects against 4 strains of HPV, they are the one's most likely to cause cancer in the future

  • "...it's not ...

"...it's not something that's any different than what you would get if you had strep or you had the common cold..."

    you're kidding right?

HPV is a sexually transmitted disease; strep throat and the common cold are not.

In Canada, people are actually petitioning for the government to pay for the series of innoculations (approximately $400) and it is presently being offered to girls as young as nine years old. Ludicrous. Bring back family values & morals and quit sleeping around.

  • So IF you are ...

So IF you are protected from SOME HPV strains... but not protected from others... how valuable is this? Would you ask your partner if you have BABESIA? What is that? It is a Marlaria-like infection that is transferred through intimate contact. Left untreated it can cause ALS, MS, and similar co-infections (Borrelia) will cause autism in your child..... 1/4 million persons per year contract this.... 10% get treated....

  • My understanding is ...

My understanding is that if you already have HPV and get the vaccine you GREATLY increase your risk of Cervical Cancer! Research the pros and cons of the vaccine VERY VERY carefully... count the cost.. there are many many other risks associated with HPV vaccine... death and disabilities
