First two pics were great, but sequels were awful attempts to milk every cent out of a very successful franchise.

I still don't understand the dislike some POTA fans have for this movie. I enjoyed it greatly. It was intelligent, creative, and a nice send-off for Heston's part of the saga.

I always hear everyone say that Taylor set off the bomb deliberately,but watching the scene it did not seem like it to me.

I think he was born in 1923 (although there is some debate on that).

Yes, isn't it? I think the movie's producers may have made a mistake, but it's so darn obvious. Who knows?

I loved all 5 of the Planet Of The Apes movies. I haven't seen them in a while but after watching this I think I'm going to have to break them out.

i saw all three movies. well, in this one, taylor dies, but he says "bloody bastard" and presses a button that sets off a bomb that destroys the planet. and in the third one, zira has a baby, then zira and her husband die. the baby is the only ape. wow, hard to remember it all. but they were great movies. this one was the scariest though. i had a nightmare first time i saw it.

Heston claimed it was his idea that Taylor destroy the planet. He hoped that would end the series; not so, three sequels were made by APJAC Productions

gave me nightmares as a child.
