  • I wish ALL of you ...

I wish ALL of you people would take into account that the cast of the movie Hairspray never sang & danced @ the same time. It's called lip syncing & I personally hate it. I rather a live performance because that's true talent. If you put the Cast from the movie up on stage to sing & dance LIVE @ the same time, they would pass out because this song is literally a strain vocally & chorally. So people for the love of GOD! STOP comparing this to the movie. It's not the ONLY version out there! JEEZ!

  • Yes, she was cured ...

Yes, she was cured of cancer but she still stuck in there when she was going through the treatments. I think she did a wonderful job at playing Tracy.

  • I love both ...

I love both versions of Hairspray. Personally I prefer the original Penny, she has an amazing voice. Not to discredit Amanda Bynes she did a great job in the movie. It's true all versions have some bad points but get over it. Unless you've been on stage or in a film you have no idea what it's like. Besides Marissa outside of playing the character Tracy has a BEAUTIFUL voice. Anyways I've put my two cents in, now I welcome the flames or praise.

Why is everyone so bitter about her singing? I really like her voice!

But no, some people just have to be negative about everything!
    ----
Is it so hard to be positive about all three versions?

  • ok, your a moron. ...

ok, your a moron. take these things into consideration:

1)Marissa was the first Tracy...she didn't follow any examples.

2)She's singing in a character voice, in a different key than what she would sing with a normal voice

3)This is an unfamiliar stage with a different orchestra

4)This is a live performance...if she screwed up, she couldn't fix it.

5)Marissa had cervical cancer while performing at this time.

    Think before you say things.
