Homemade Laser

in this video, its about 2 feet. however, i am able to focus the beam and collimate it on any point at any distance, so yes i can do this from across the room.

thats pretty cool, whats the distance on the laser? can you light a match across the room or does it have to be close to it?

sorry, i recently sold it to a friend for 50 bucks. i might make another soon, but it will be much smaller. maybe even small enough to fit in a regular pen. ill keep everyone posted.

Cool I used to use soundforge, then moved to Adobe Audition along with FL 7 and my trusty Axiom 25.

actually, what you see here is a prototype of my laser. i have since been able to downsize everything to fit in a very small, portable, and handheld enclosure. its not a cylinder, like a pen or flashlight, but it is shaped like a box. it is small enough to fit in my pocket.

would it be possible to make a handheld burning laser? that would be easier to use for burning/popping/etc.

lol it only burns me if i make a little black sharpie dot on my skin and then shine the laser on it. it hurts like hell. i tell you what though, this thing WILL instantly blind you if it goes into your eyes.

im not familiar with soundforge, but acid is good for a lot more than just editing. i use it predominantly for recording, but i also create sampled loops and use them for songs like these. i wouldn't recommend going for sony acid pro, (its hundreds of dollars) but i went for acid music studio 7, it works just as well for my purposes.

really sony acid? hmm i thougth that was for editing only. Maybe im thinking of soundforge?

i use sony acid. its pretty expensive, but you can get free samples on the sony website. if you have a mac, you can't use it though.
