This is a how to for how to create a screencast from a linux desktop using the available open source programs.

I am running opensuse 10.3 + XGL + Compizfusion.
The programs used for this recording are purely opensource.

1) recordmydekstop
2) soundrecorder
3) mencoder (mplayer)

    im not new to linux but im new to ubuntu and whenever its possible install programs with terminal because it is much faster in the end though it takes a while to enter the codes!

    hello i am a computer programmer and if you reinstall this program with terminal (CMD) and install and run in the cd$- sumo run recordmydesktop.m4 in thc c (main drive) it should speed the program up by at least 700Ghz so i would definetley suggest what i told you then just regular install... tell me if it works!!!

    What kind of Video Card did you use to make this video? i have troubles with mine, can get all the effects only 3d cube and wiggle windows, nothing like fire ,magic lamp etc any idea?
