Famous Blue Raincoat - Leonard Cohen
This song gives me shudders when I hear it. It is simply magnificent, just like the great Leonard Cohen.

By Utrazalle [Affiliate User] 1208618130 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveMy favorite song of all time. It can be played on the piano using only white keys - Amin, F, Dmin, Emin - transiting to C, B7, Amin, etc. Not a black key in sight. The last chord, Emin, leaves a sense of imcompletion, perfectly fitting with the words.

Why would a three year old be mistaken for a "mature" person, even if the child can play the piano? I think that's my point.
By brelfan [Affiliate User] 1208530036 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveCan you possibly be comparing the genius Mozart to the average youngster with access to Youtube? Maturity (and therefore development of one's brain) is intimately connected with understanding, especially when it comes to poetic expression. Mozart is a good example of this as it happens. A comparison of those early innocent works produced as a child with those works of great depth produced later in his life demonstrates precisely this point.
By lovableccentric [Affiliate User] 1208520007 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveNever knew that being middle aged and calling yourself as much was a sign of immaturity. However, I don't think you can get to be my age, look back at what you were at 19 and 24, and believe that you were "mature." Mozart, at three, was a toddler writing music. Bet he was adorable.
By brelfan [Affiliate User] 1208500952 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveCan you possibly be inferring that Mozart didn't understand music when he began playing and writing as a toddler? A persons age and the development of their brain has little to do with basic understanding. As we get older we understand things in a different way, our experiences change our perspectives on things. Art is completely open to interpret no matter what your age.
Zit squeezing children? Really? Obviously maturity isn't based on age...
It's both a race AND a religion. now enjoy the song lol

By contraelgobierno [Affiliate User] 1208284649 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI'm Jewish, but thats not my race. Being black is a race, being Latino is a race. But Judaism? No
By breeeegs [Affiliate User] 1208281712 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeit is so a race--the hebrews ring a bell??

By breeeegs [Affiliate User] 1208279169 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHe kicks off the tour in Canada in May. Then starts Europe tour in Dublin in June and taking in several countries in Europe in June & July during which he goes back to Montreal for a few gigs and then back to Europe. An amazing man at his age. More dates to be confirmed. Not sure where he gigs in the States. I hope to get a vid of him in Dublin and post it here.
By iGaucho [Affiliate User] 1207924182 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWhat??? Leonard is touring Ireland?? Ohhhh, good for you!! Excellent news!! Is there any hope he'll tour the states?? I can honestly say, iGaucho, I don't know what I would have done at certain times in my life without Lenny's music to carry me along. Truly a gift and a blessing, eh?? Enjoy the concert, and keep us posted, please!!
By LeonardAndNickFan [Affiliate User] 1207857518 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYes Pure Gold. What would we have done if Leonard Cohen did not give us all his brilliant music and poetry. He's 74 and I am fortunate to have tickets to see him live in Dublin. Long may he share his genius with us.

By loveskrypt0nit3 [Affiliate User] 1207831448 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWho is the mature one who feels he/she has the right to lecture, having lived 'nearly half a decade'!? I bet he/she's too mature to find that funny...
By carlburmston [Affiliate User] 1207815024 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYeah, Cohen's great.
By sunclov [Affiliate User] 1207738257 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveApparently "maturity" means "snobbery".
I hope I never grow up.
- a Cohen fan, age 24
my statement was made in reference to someone else. that specific person said that he "was" a jew. read what i said...did u read it? i was questioning his remark not Leonard Cohen.
much love
"Was" a jew? WHAT are you talking about?? I don't think Leonard EVER talked about himself as being a former Jew!! From everything I've read and known he's embraced his Jewish heritage, yet also gone on to become a Buddhist monk. True, a Jewish Buddhist monk... just letting the whole thing hang out there... not meaning to solve it or change it. It's just who he is. Deal with it, can't you? And dig Leonard for who he is and the music he's given us??
By LeonardAndNickFan [Affiliate User] 1207689769 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove"was" a jew? he is jewish. u can't just negate that. it's a race. being buddhist on the other hand is a spiritual road taken when the desire so arises in the individual, either independent of other beliefs or practised in cohesion with other beliefs.
much love
Pure Gold!! My favorite song EVER!! By my favorite singer/songwriter ever!! Wooo hoo!!
By LeonardAndNickFan [Affiliate User] 1207435608 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveBelieving age and maturity aren't tied is a sign that you haven't lived long. Youth and maturity are at opposite ends of the poles, and a belief that young people can be mature "somehow" just proves you're 19. I understand some young people have had enormous struggles and survived. But after living nearly half a decade, I've found most of us have had enormous struggles and survived. Takes time to absorb, relate, change, overcome. I'm working on it even at my age.
