Yup, the Mughals had artillery from Babur's time.. thats how they established their kingdom

that would make sense, but i thought chainmail armor came with the english when they came to trade in india. and if my memory of history serves me right, the english came right at the end of the mughal rule, right?

I saw them wearing Chainmail Armor in Jodhaa-Akbar also. Probably when one country thought of the idea, obviously it would spread, and India might have started using it since it seemed as if it was the best choice back then.

freakystar96-and another thing to go along with your guns arguement: doesnt the presence of chainmail armor seem a little outta place in india? i know for a fact that during the crusades, the christians wore chainmail armor and they suffered brutally in the heat!!

If you know your history, you would know that guns came after cannons. I don't know about India's guns or cannons, since I studied Medieval Times guns & cannons, and I believe that cannons were first there and they thought of putting it into moveable ones.
If you went back into time and asked them "If you had cannons, why didn't you use guns?", they would look at you as if your crazy because they haven't heard the word "guns" before.
Just what I think.
