Era il 1848 ;-) e anche Venezia si stava ribellando.
La repubblica di San Marco però era stata libera fino a 50 anni prima, mentre il Milanese era dipendenza altrui da secoli. Quella libertà non ci è più stata ridata, anzi ci siamo volenti o nolenti buttati nelle braccia di un re che sembrava meno straniero.
Sono passati 210 anni, e nelle campagne venete si sente ancora parlare della Repubblica come fosse l'altroieri.
Ma questo oltre la linea gotica sembra non capirlo nessuno... :-/

i know exactly how you feel. these songs were literally perverted by the totalitarian systems. The same things happened in my country during Communism. The beautiful patriotic and Christian hymns' style was copied and used for mean purposes. Perhaps we should go before this and feel the joy and enthusiasm of the first audiences and the authenticity of the divine gift of this music.

I don't like the clap along style, but nonetheless a beautiful play of the radetsky march.

The revoltants of 1948 don't forget.
