  • FYI, 1: Are you ...

    FYI,
1: Are you sure you're really studying SUMATRAN rhinos in a "uneversity" for years and years when you can't even spell their name or UNIVERSITY correctly?
2: They aren't extinct and you call them "extinct specie like this"?
3: The elephant have no way of knowing that the sumatran rhino is critically endangered.
4: Black rhinos dont hunt down elephants on purpose, they attack out of fear, confusion and panic. They have poor eyesight and will hence charge at anything they think as threat.

  • I see it more as a ...

I see it more as a poisoning than them being "angry." (Their behavior in musth would never be the same if they weren't in musth.) ... but I wouldn't say it's correct or fair to put "elephants in musth" and "elephants not in musth" into the same category at all. That only represents 50% of the population ever and then bulls are only in musth for a short duration compared to non-musth. They're very loving, emotional animals with unpredictable intense murderous outburts.

  • If you're refering ...

If you're refering to the musth as "bouts of rage and can be vindictive" I disagree ... it is hormones and causes the elephants intense pain/digust so they lash out at anything. They aren't exactly "gentle giants" but they are capable of feeling extreme and deep emotions like love and are no more vindictive than humans. It's understandable to want revenge when they feel they've been wronged. They're so dangerous because they're capable and know (like humans) how to do the most damage.

Yes!! Thank you for educating yourself about elephants and the abuse they endure! Tyke came from Hawthorn Corp (John Cuneo) - google Hawthorn and read about his elephants

  • Actually, that is ...

Actually, that is not exactly true. Despite Elephants' portrayal as gentle giants, Elephants are not as friendly as many believe. They can experience bouts of rage and can be vindictive. Elephants are very dangerous, and no other animal, not even africanized honeybees, causes more carnage when angry than the Elephant. Bulls take more than 300 lives annually while in musth!

Once I started into researching animal issues I found out alot about elephants and their societies and how they are breaking down due to humans. I watched this program and also read about these elephants, do research on the internet and you won't believe it. Ck PETA and all humane organizations. Search google for TYKE the elephant and read her story. She was a cull orphan from Africa. It will really open your eyes.

  • This video is about ...

This video is about elephants that are orphans of culling done by park officials during the 90's. They have Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (per scientists)from seeing their families killed before them and being tied to the bodies of their mothers as they were butchered. Some of the young were returned to the wild without the elephant society that they depend on. Where do you think circus and zoo elephants come from? 10 MILLION AFRICAN ELEPHANTS 100 YEARS AGO/UNDER 160,000 NOW.

I didnt know about that Jeff Corwin part :P Imma go check it out. Other than that I think elephants are gentle in nature, I mean males only get aggresive during musk or something.

Plus Elephants isnt evolved to live with Humans so it could be unpredictable what it might do near Human contact.

  • We can all agree ...

We can all agree about the horror they go through in inhuman care. I mean wild Elephants. You don't want to end up in sight or smell of a heard in the wild, especially males. And as for the gentleness, not entirely. Jeff Corwin (see video on YT) got thrashed and injured about because an elephant was "playing" with him.

Thats wrong. Elephants are pretty gentle. Ive seen some people have a close bond with elephants, bathing with them in the river and cleaning them. Ever heard of "An Elephant never forgets?" Yeah, I would be angry and mad too if i was in chains and in a circus.
