1988 Chrysler LeBaron Coupe & Convertible TV Commercial

They were absolutely beautiful cars, but they weren't very reliable! Still, they were a lot of fun, as long as you traded them in early.

Yup, my Lebaron was one of my worst cars ever too. Maybe only beaten by my '87 Mercedes 300E. Talk about a nightmare.

You mean someone didn't maintain it? I doubt that. It was like new inside and out. It had a new high quality paint job, aftermarket alloys, upgraded CD stereo. The engine ran beautifully except for the weird idle vibration no mechanic could fix. I took great care of it too. It just was such a nightmare. Wish I had been able to find a coupe instead I might still have it.

The experience I had with my '89 Lebaron sounds like others. The top leaked incredibly. Purchased with about 60k miles and got rid of it about 15k miles later. So many problems. Overheated 2x leaving me stranded. Gauges were faulty. Quarter window failed. Seatback recliners broke. Power top failed. Transmission woes. Engine vibrations problems no one could diagnose. 0-60 in 15sec. Was very dissapointed. My Acclaim with same engine and tranny was fantastic. Like night and day. I don't get it!

Had one when they were new. It was fully loaded and thank haven I bought the extended warranty. Those were some fun times.

beautiful car. yea mabey the turbo engines werent the best if you didnt know how to maintain them but i own a 1993 lebaron convertible with the 3.0 v6 it 172048 miles on it and i runs like new, and not to mention that thing hauls ass, ive smoked many hondas with it, but the top leeks like a screen though.

I owned a 1987 and the engine blew up at about 80,000 miles. I baby my cars and this was the one and only car I ever owned who's engine went. I've been a loyal Chrysler owner for 25 years. I have to say it was the worst car I ever owned. My second worse was my 91 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. It was always in the shop.

that hunk of crap... the steering wheel came off on both of my friends Lebarons....

Still looks modern today. My mom has a red 1990 LeBaron convertible, and its a great car!
