Wifi connections at distances up to MILES are possible with high gain directional antennas.

This video illustrates the building of one of the many wifi antennas at http://www.ab9il.net that can be made with inexpensive parts, common tools, and precise assembly by hand. This is the most popular antenna, though the parabolic reflector provides the ultimate in long range wifi connectivity.

If you are trying to cover a large parcel of land or perhaps reach a community wifi network, this project will get you a signal more than ten times as strong as on a simple dipole antenna.

I am just amazed at how well this worked !
I have searched ALL over the Web & found Nothing as simple & inexpensive.
I literely had all the items to build in hand.
FYI...be exact on cuts & placement.
I have built 3 bi-Quads, they are easy to use ,BUT not near the power gathering ability.
I will be making one of clear Plastic, big enough so the copper is inside & can't snag.
    JUST DO THIS ONE
