Yes, I understand what you mean. But true power is not the power of the fist. It is the power of the heart. When the Polish national anthem is performed with soft melancholy elegant in defeat manner, it completely outclasses most other national anthems. It has that capacity. I think it is wrong to perform an anthem like that in a way that sounds similar to the Vulgo-power-crazed tunes of Russia and Germany. The polish eagle is WHITE. It is an eagle of goodness. It is not a BLACK evil eagle...

Well..I've not got allucinations :-)The place I've been to(in 2003) is called Wisła..In south eastern Poland..They explained me that the name is Wisła just because Wisła river pass through the village and it departs just from there(or a place next to this village). Wisła is not far from Cechk border and just five minutes from Carpatian mountains..If you don't believe me I can send you some pictures..By the way I really like Poland:-)

Burzamonte - I understand you, and maybe it could be "sad". But I , as a Polis patriot, say this won't work. Our anthem has to give us power, and not make us just sad reminding old, bad times. There are many beautifull Polish songs about the bad times, they are making sad, and they are about loosing soldiers and civilians. But the anthem should stay as it is. An anthem full of power! Giving US the power to fight against anything what's against our NATION!

I am speaking as an art historian. The polish national anthem should not be performed with stupid stiff necked pride. It should be performed on a deeper level. Full of brittle Chopinistic melancholy. This song is about defeated soldiers with bleeding feet that do not give in. They march to their doom with warmness and christian humility. If you don't know that part about Poland you know nothing.
It is either that or Chopin and Matejko weren't one percent polish. Take your pick.

However:
I think this version is quite bad. The Polish national anthem should be much much softer, more like a tear in the eye. Not this cold triumphant thing.
