  • Way back when, one ...

Way back when, one of God's most important angels, Lucifer, thought that he was just as good as God, and tried to take over God's throne. God threw him out of Heaven, and Lucifer (The Devil/Satan) created hell and lived there. He took with him other rebellious angels with him, and the Bible says they turned into demons. That's a brief background on hell.

But why did God even create hell?

Well essentially we should all be going to hell, but God gave His Son so we wouldn't have to! I know I keep coming back to this, but it really is important!
And yes, He gives us a choice! And honestly, I don't know where it says anything about HAVING to love God, it just says, "...Whoever believes in Him...". And the thing is, if we believe in Him, loving Him seems to come natural! There's been times I've been angry at God, but I was still a Christian. It's possible to be angry and still love.

Also you say about pulling the string on a doll and it says I love you, false love. Kinda like telling people they'll go to hell if they don't love you. Nice guy God.

But I mean, what's the point? That just seems like a really pointless excersise and lame excuse.

  • Well like I said, ...

Well like I said, we're all here to serve/worship God. With that in mind, he couldn't just make us do whatever he said, or else it wouldn't be real worship. Take dolls as an example. When you pull the string on an old doll, it'll say something like, "I love you!"
Is that real love? No, that's just a voice box programed to say that. It's the same with us. We have to be able to make a choice of either serving Him or not. And that choice was given to Adam and Eve, as well as all of us.

Already read your comment. Seretonin is always in the brain, not just when you eat fruit. It's the chemical that makes you feel happy. Like when someone does an ecstasy pill, it releases lots of seretonin.

  • Well you're right ...

Well you're right in saying that "Religion" is selfish. It in itself can give no blessing or curse. That's why there's God. And why WOULDN'T he do it for personal gain? After all, the reason why we're here is to serve Him(Isaiah 43:7). With that being said, He's certainly not too self-seeking. I mean hey... you and I are still living, right? He gave His only Son to die for us in hopes that we'd accept it and live after death. If God's willing to give His Son for us, He's certainly not selfish.
