    Its called Metal Storm and its a weapons system made by an Australian company. It uses electrical impulses to fire the rounds in the barrel so it has no mechanical parts to slow it down. Bullets are stacked on top of one another in the barrels. Made to be mounted underneath planes that fly @ low altitude or on top of APC's to create massive waves of lead down range. System is cartridge loaded and cannot reload itself so once it fires its done with until a new cartridge of barrels is loaded.

    well, one million RPM is cool and all, but firing a heavy amount of bullets on to one target? that is overkill. I could see shooting down missiles and all that, but in combat on the ground? I think it would be affective no doubt, but a waste of bullets. Also, that thing is a huge piece of metal. You have to get up and move it where you want to point,unless it's one of those things that just moves on its own, which could put the person re-loading it in critical danger.

    Well, for a start, this is a demonstration- the siren is there to let whoever's watching know that gun is about to fire. At 1,000,000 RPM it would be pretty easy to blink and miss it ;) Secondly, and for the fool who said it would be useless in combat, can you imagine the anti aircraft potential of a gun that can fire that fast? All of a sudden you have the ability to shoot down artillery shells and very high speed missles.
