A TRIBUTE FOR BOTH GREAT GUITARISTS!

(This is not a question to 'say' who is better; this is to have fun listening to them)

Two of my favorite guitarists, Jimmy Page and Jimi Hendrix at their best! Videos of them LIVE! Now look at how they do it! How they act and react, when playing! Their History! How they're dressed! I mean everything!!! They're amazing!! Their music came from their hearts and their music was amazing, they changed history... !!!
(Check my annotation at 8:00)

Best Solo:
Jimmy: Stairway To Heaven
Jimi: All Along The Watchtower

Best Riff:
Jimmy: Whole Lotta Love
Jimi: Purple Haze

Guitar Trick:
Jimmy: Violin Bow
Jimi: Teeth

Favorite Solo:
Jimmy: Black Dog
Jimi: Voodoo Child

I would of added more like the solo of Machine Gun from Jimi or the solo of Boogie Mama from Jimmy. But since the time limit of YouTube I had to take both of them off, I couldn't of shorten them...

Any problems about this video, please comment it!!

Worship these Guitar Gods! ...
Live Long Jimmy Page!
RIP Jimi Hendrix!

  • Have you read what ...

Have you read what I said?
What Hendrix made in 4 years nobody can touch. The sounds he heard in his head and the way he played the guitar changed popular music forever. He is an inovator. And he is the best, most important and most influential musician and guitar player that has ever lived. A fact. Page is good, but he can't touch Hendrix, cause Hendrix was way ahead of his time. Page is a great guitar player, but Hendrix was a force of nature and unreal.
Hendrix is the best ever, a fact.

  • But still Jimmy was ...

But still Jimmy was ranked 2nd or 3rd from them, that's good enough, with Eric Clapton along in the Top 3... But all guitarist are good, check my annotation at 8:00, they're all good, no one wins... Hell! I made this video for a tribute for them! I don't just argue... Well, I should really take that vs. (versus) between their names off...

  • well I think I know ...

well I think I know Jimi Hendrix, when I made a video on him... All Along The Watchtower was a song made by Bob Dylan, and Wild Thing was from The Troggs... and blah blah blah... I think I know... But he did excellent other covers too... But you're saying this for everyone, right? Not only me, I hope so...

  • Dont get me wrong, ...

Dont get me wrong, Jimmy page is an outstanding guitarist, one of the best ever, noone can match jimi hendrix. He's just a legend, not just because his dead but because of how remarkably creative he was. Hendrix just came alive on the stage. He really did never play the same thing twice. Look at the covers that hes done, all along the watchtower, hey joe, wild thing. People actually think theyre his songs. The complexity of his playing is unbeleivable. Its not just that he can play fast but ohno..

  • considering ...

considering stairway to heavan's solo has been voted as the number one solo in almost every guitar and music poll, guitar world, guitar player, classi rock magazine, etc. thats not true, and he is definetly not the most important greatest icon, or greatest musician ever, all of those labels would go to the beatles, its just your opinion man, u need to stop taking so much offense to people being objective, i think page is better, his carreer was alot longer and more sucessful

  • I mean this is so ...

I mean this is so pathetic and stupid even to argue and talk about it, cause where ever you see name Hendrix, you know he is the real deal and the greatest. He is the best, most important and greatest icon, guitar player and musician that has ever lived. Nobody touches him, there is nobody even in the same building with him. The way he played the guitar, the sounds he heard in his head, the things he invented and the way guitar will be looked and sounded changed music forever.

  • No mate, all polls, ...

No mate, all polls, guitar magazines, musicians, critics and guitar players rank Hendrix as the best, most creative, most inovative and most influential guitar player ever.
Now, they are all in the music bussines for a long time and they know their stuff very good, do you see any reason why would they lie? Why hasn't nobody of them ranked Page as the best? Reason : he is not. Very simple mate.
Hendrix is, by any view and mean, the best of all times. What he made in 4 years nobody can touch.

  • shikamaru412, i ...

    shikamaru412,
i listened to Dooby Brothers "Long Train Running"...sorry couldnt find a strong resemblence bw the 2....maybe it might have been an influence on TUF but other than that TUF is pretty distinctive on its own....

  • i respect your ...

i respect your point and all, and in no way wanna argue, but i have done extensive research on both guitarist, and i could argue your exact arguement for page, there is some well documented footage of page improvising on multiple songs for 20 or more minutes, and he has mastered both electric and acoustic, and dont get me wrong, im not saying your opinion is wrong, because its not, it just an opinion, and the things about hendrix bein ranked higher that usually only occurs in the Rolling Stone

  • Killing Floor ...

Killing Floor sounds just like a slowed down version of The Lemon Song... Or at least a less complex one.
I agree that STH has more than the intro, but it's still from Taurus, regardless.
And, if you don't think Trampled Under Foot was stolen, look up the Dooby Brothers' Long Train Running....

  • Actually,for The ...

Actually, for The Lemon Song, only the lyrics were lifted(from"killin floor") by Plant (as a tribute to Howlin Wolf btw).....
STH doesnt have a riff...if your talking abt the intro, then there's A LOT MORE to the song than the intro...
Trampled Under Foot WAS NOT PLAGIARIZED...where did you even get that??!!!
and yes i do agree that Pagey had better and more well known riffs(& solos)than Hendrix

  • Page's riffs are ...

Page's riffs are maybe a bit more known, but in no way that they are better that Hendrix's stuff, cause they are not.
Hendrix never played a song same way twice, and he is one of the most versatile guitar players ever. His style is unique and he would never go on repeating himself. He was a ultimate improviser.
In every song from he would do something new and raw. Totally mindblowing.

  • singer, duh!... lol ...

    singer, duh!... lol
I know... I'm just saying that Page's riffs are more known than Hendrix's riffs.... Look when you hear Hendrix you know it's Hendrix, Led Zeppelin all their songs are different, which is unique, because of the singer's voice changing and Jimmy Page never takes something which he already done before... Which changes the music, they're both musical geniuses... Check my annotations at 8:00... But the solo of Dazed and Confused (1973, New York) is complex too... But still I know.
