Based on the Broadway play by Neil Simon, this tells the story of two mismatched friends, Felix Unger and Oscar Madison. Felix is a neat, tidy, and healthy nut, a photographer at a portrait studio, and a connoisseur of classical music. Because of this, his wife divorced Felix and threw him out of his apartment for good. Desperately in the need of a place to live, he moves in with his longtime childhood friend, Oscar Madison, a sports journalist for the New York Times. What he realizes is that Oscar is the exact opposite of him: sloppy, messy, and doesn't eat the right foods. Felix's cleaning, hygienic tips, and healthiness annoys Oscar while Oscar's crazy world of living like a pig upsets Felix. But in the process they'll learn that love, trust, and friendship are more important than living in different worlds Tony Randall and Jack Klugman star.Al Molinaro 1970

  • Yeah, I recall ...

Yeah, I recall hearing of Randall's death...but correct me if I'm wrong, I seem to recall reading that he married some really young lady (about 25?), and had a kid by her, when he was well into his 70's, before his death!

  • Stranger still, ...

Stranger still, Jack Klugman (who is still acting, BTW) at the age of 86, outlived Randall, who died at 84 and had been in ill health for at least a couple of years prior to his death!

Strangely enough, Tony Randall was in real life older than his Odd Couple co-star Jack Klugman!

Even though this show came out before I was born, I still watched it like it was new even though the episodes were old and I used to think the show was called "Felix & Oscar"

i can answer that...that is footage from the old May Day festivities in Central Park (note the Maypoles in the footage). Kids from various cultures would do different dances, She is probably just trying to get the steps right!

  • yes they are ...

yes they are sitting at the outermost edge of central park on 59th street. Behind them (the white columns) is the old GM Building, which is now a Trump building and houses FAO Schwarz. The camera is in the park facing out toward the intersection of 59th and 5th.If the camera facing them was to turn to its right, the camera would be pointed at the Plaza Hotel.

  • Good times and I ...

Good times and I don't mean the kind with J.J. Walker that's a different show. Love to see a new version of this show with an all in the family sub-text. Felix will be the conservative republican and Oscar the typical liberal. They both maintain a thread of decency towards each other while exposing each others hypocrisy and weaknesses.
