Ray Bradbury Speaks About WRITING!

A Pulitzer Prize! And having fun while attempting to attain this or any other worthy goal sure makes the journey sound worthwhile. I could stand to improve the journey part. Keeping it real, I am not hooked on such rewards or recognition. Most of us could take it or leave it. Besides the chances are that nobody reading this message will win one, yours truly included. For me it is the image that excites. The incredible ability to focus on a topic, to the point where the writer becomes the topic is not beyond my skills; only my abilities. I have had learning disabilities throughout my life. But the day is not over yet.

Ray Bradbury is my favorite writer. He is a beautiful writer and human being. His stuff isn't the heaviest stuff out there but it's heavier than your average Stephen King novel (No offence to King; he's good.). He writes about so many beautiful things. He is full of life. My favorite quote is from him "the best writer touch life often, the mediocre ones brush a hand over her, and the bad ones R**e her and leave her for the flies."...Well, put and I live by that motto in writing.

Years ago I saw him in St.Louis, I was pretty illiterate basically, so the poignancy of his presence was lost on me. I have since read books and am grateful I got to meet the guy. As he was heading towards the elevator, he placed his hand on my shoulder and said "Take care," in his way, you know how he does. It was awesome.
