  • Do you have ...

Do you have Felder's book called Heaven And Hell it's very interesting book it describes his perspective of the band. Some of it is bullshit but some of is believable. You should buy it.

  • Felder didn't leave ...

Felder didn't leave exactly, he was fired because of his constant nagging about money.

  • Yeah I heard about ...

Yeah I heard about that. One time in '76, Frey chased Felder, ready to kick his ass because he was so angry at him, after the end of one show. Then Felder threatened to hit Frey with one of the guitars. Hell, Frey hated everyone, he truly had a street attitude, straight from Detroit, man.

  • no problem Bro.. ...

no problem Bro..believe me I was in bands during the 70's and friggin ego's drove me crazy...saw the Eagles in '76 (Hotel California tour) and couldn't believe when I saw them again in..79?..whatever the "Long Run" tour was..they were fighting in '76 and trying to kill each other in '79...now they are doing the endless "final tour"..you are not a dumbass or shithead..what you may not know is that Walsh is also an electrician..and could do some things with amps that Feldor couldn't do..till Joe

Well I appreciate that you made your point and you didn't try to call me a "dumbass" or "shit head" or any of that crap and you didn't flood my page with derogatory comments but you made a point and I'm glad you used facts but I stick to what I believe in but it's still all good. You're cool.

  • This song is so ...

This song is so underrated....I rank it #2 on the On The Border album (after Already Gone), and one of my all-time Eagles faves.

I'm surprised Felder and Walsh didn't jam around for 20 minutes in the middle of the song...I hate it when they do that.

    They're still awesome though. :)

  • I disagree...he was ...

I disagree...he was a HUGE impact..and Glenn calling him a "cheap asshole"...well that's just money and R&R..Felder coming in gave Glenn and Don the reason to get rid of Bernie..then when Joe joined...it then became a dicotomy within a band...Glenn and Don (the songwriters) and Joe and Don F. having fun playing together? Felder did write "Hotel California"..(not the lyrics)...Walsh and Felder loved playing together

Harmony guitar solo (or maybe I should say "duet") by Walsh and Felder, now that was awesome.

no, he wanted credit for his own songs and glenn and don wouldn't give it to him. don was a huge impact for the eagles because he was the one who wrote hotel california, their biggest song.

  • Don Felder wasn't ...

Don Felder wasn't really that big of an impact for The Eagles. He was according to Glenn a "cheap asshole". He wanted all the credit for all of Glenn and Don Henley's songs even after his departure. And what r u talkin' about? Joe Walsh gave The Eagles that hard rock sound and they were more energetic on stage when Joe came.

  • All of a sudden, in ...

All of a sudden, in 1974, the Eagles became a rock band. Not a country rock band, but a plain old rock n' roll band.
The addition of third guitarist Don Felder gave the band a bigger, more raw, more urgent sound, particularly on the hardest rock tracks "Good Day In Hell" and "James Dean".

  • "James Dean" from ...

"James Dean" from the album ON THE BORDER sounded like a sure fire hit back in 1974, but, only hit #77 on Billboard. Infact, the only hit from the album was the ballad "Best of My Love" which hit #1 in March, 1975.
