Part 1 of 5 - I smashed my iPhone. The following videos show the process of repairing the touchscreen using the replacement part purchased from pdaparts.com. In particular, we show the steps that are missing from the other videos on youtube. These videos are only lightly edited. We appologize for the length but we feel that cutting it down to 10 minutes or less does not give the full scope of the repair. By the way, we have now seen someone use a suction cup to help open the iPhone - It looks much easier.

    Make sure when you buy the kit to also buy an extra iPhone. When you do this you will break the LCD and probably the home button. Also, the more recent 3Gs (since about late 2008) the screen will come off before the frame and it is very hard to get the screen frame out even though the screen is already come off.

    BE VERY CAREFUL AND PAY ATTENTION WHEN YOU ARE TAKING THIS APART. their video of this doesnt show what they are prying apart correctly. i ordered my screen, and force-separated the bottom part of the chrome from the back panel instead of separating the touch panel from the chrome and i broke my 3G. :(

    My sim tray is stuck. (iPhone 2G)
    How can i remove the back cover without removing the sim tray?

    (im trying to fix the sim tray, it wont pop up when i insert paper clip and etc to the little hole)

    its easier to open the thouch glass with a shower sucktion cup or any small suktion cup,,,,plus you wont damage the rubber around the glass using that romaval tool

    Shouldnt all that you do is remove the LCD which is just the screen itself and the touch part your not messing with any thing other than that unless you really mess up by like jamming a screwdriver into the other parts of the phone
