Mark - Where were you when I was telling twooffour about Metal?
I can't believe how much new Buddy Rich stuff there is since August.
Have you seen his solo snare vid Bolero?
And Fred Astaire with drumsticks? He was talented!
    I find new stuff everyday.

  • Right, Frank -- ...

Right, Frank -- Most "average joes", no pun intended, simply would not understand or appreciate a great solo by JM, or many of the other Jazz greats. Straight ahead Jazz is far over the heads of the average person. Look at the record sales for metal, rap, and oh, god, I can barely even type it -- country. eecchhhhh. The average person (sheep) is happy to soak up whatever crap is being spoon fed to them by the media, and they rarely ever seek out a higher "standard", Frank! Man, I'm on FIRE ! !

Mark - Ha! I've never heard any of Joe's solos on any radio station when many of these classic tunes are being played. If it gets in vogue once more then they'd start t play drum solos. I ain't going to hold my breath though -:))

Ah yes, something to make you want to run for sticks and a pad - I get more impressed with Morello the more I watch him play - not sure it took me so long to appreciate his playing, but glad I joined the club!

Mark - If I'm not mistaken the 45 version and LP version are two different ones.
