Well now I have an even bigger concern! If the diametar of your previous scope is the same as the diameter of the scope you just bought you are not going to see any difference between the two. A larger scope may bring out more detail in an object but because celestial objects like nebula and galaxies are dime and the human eye not so sensitive dont be supprised if you get the same result.

  • Sounds like a ...

Sounds like a refractor. Use the 20mm eyepiece first. Make sure your finder scope is aligned with the main tube so that what you see in the cross hairs are what you see in the center field of view. (see my video on finderscope) Practice pointing it at the moon (check moon phase on a calendar) and bright stars. Most important: LEARN THE CONSTELLATIONS. If you dont, you wont know where to point the scope.

  • I went into ...

I went into astronomy yesterday! Found my binoculars.. Little bit like yours, but 7x50 and 6.8 degrees field. Just gotta find Planisphere somewhere. Had one when I was kid, now I'm little bit bigger kid and I have lost it.

It's just very cloudy at this moment, 8/8. Gotta wait week or two to get change to look up.

Do you know anything of photographing the space? If you do, make a video!
