    Completely agreed. They even stated pre-release that season 1 followed Darkly Dreaming Dexter, while season 2 was off on its own. I'm in Dearly Devoted Dexter right now, and its going great. I am greatly anticipating season 3.

    Darkly Dreaming Dexter was amazing. But you also have to remember that the writers wanted to have a continuous series which is basically just inspired by the books. To be honest, I was surprised how well it turned out :)

  • Season one and two ...

    Season one and two were great, but i read the first book, Darkly Dreaming Dexter. It goes MUCH differently. For one, Dexter's brother, Brian, KILLS LaGuerta when she walks in on the pending killing of Deb. Deb never dated "Rudy."
    LaGuerta suspected Dexter as a killer more than Doakes. Dexter's kills aren't perfect and clean, but they're dumped regularly and he reads the newspaper articles as they are found.
