Sylvie Vartan chante encore une très jolie chanson avec ses belles choristes Jerryka Jacques-Gustave, Carole Rowley et Sophie Thiam. C'est en 1963 que Brenda Lee a chantée MY WHOLE WORLD IS FALLING DOWN ( MON MONDE ENTIER EST EN TRAIN DE TOMBER ) en anglais. Plus tard la même année, Sylvie Vartan a chantée une version en français dont le titre était SI JE CHANTE. La voilà ici, 45 ans plus tard, chantant cette merveilleuse chanson au Palais des Congrès de Paris ! Les paroles en anglais « Mon monde entier est en train de tomber » n'ont pas le même sens qu'en français « Si je chante c'est pour toi ».

Sylvie Vartan sings another great song with her beautiful and talented backup singers Jerryka Jacques-Gustave, Carole Rowley and Sophie Thiam. It was in 1963 that Brenda Lee sang MY WHOLE WORLD IS FALLING DOWN in English. Later that same year, Sylvie Vartan sang a French version titled SI JE CHANTE (IF I SING). Here she is 45 years later singing this wonderful song at the Palais des Congrès in Paris! The meaning of the lyrics is quite different in the English version ("My whole world is falling down") than from the French version ("If I sing it's for you").

    That was part of her routine at each of the 5 shows that I saw in Paris. She wore the same three outfits every time. This song brings back some fond memories of my childhood in France. "Si Je Chante" was one of my favorite songs when I was 7 years old. That was just a few months after I arrived in Paris from Sofia.

    Yes, I heard that some of the backup singers were the same. I had the privilege to meet Carole Rowley (the one in the middle) after the end of the concert on February 5, 2008. I also met Sophie Thiam (the one on the right) backstage after the concert on April 12, 2008 was over. They are very talented and quite friendly, too!

    One can really see how Sylvie loves children (after the end of this song) and Max was a very lucky boy!
