English Bulldog Swimming

av got a old tyme bulldog 23 months and an ameican bulldog 15 months females good breeds waiting for my first litter carnt wait peace out!

Actually Bulldogs do exactly as they wish. Having fished 2 bulldogs out of ponds in my time I can safely tell any doubters that if the Bully didnt want to go in the pool, they wouldn't go in the pool.

i know bulldogs have problems breathing as is..but i wonder if that was good or bad for the dog..probably good..it seems like its making his lungs stronger.

obviously with a life vest they can , and its not abuse its a dog fetching a toy.

Actually we have 2 pure bred Bulldogs in our home too; an 11 y.o. Female and a 9 m.o. Male. The male replaces another male that we lost at 10 years. I think I know a little about the breed too.

Not trying to be "the boss" of anything. Just want to make sure that people know that this is VERY VERY rare and that bulldogs and water do not mix. Just a bulldog lover here - have had my two for about 7 years now. Love to breed - just want to make sure people are aware. A PSA of sorts. Sorry if you were offended...

Actually you are wrong because Max can also swim w/o the vest, but I didn't post that video b/c it is a rare among bulldogs and Max doesn't really enjoy it, but he can save himself now if he falls in. As I have said in other posts, our other bullie absolutely hates the water w/ or w/o the vest.

While this may be cute, this is akin to abuse! Bulldogs can not swim their mass does not allow them to float. If this beautiful bully were to decide to go for a swim by its self - it would drown. Please people, do not follow this lead.

All dogs are different, even within a breed. For Maximus, he loves to swim, it keeps him cool, and it's great exercise that is easy on his joints. Our other bulldog hates the water though. You just have to see what your dog likes.

That's very impressive. Bulldogs aren't designed for swimming. But they do like a nice paddle on a hot day.

That bulldogs legs are almost as sexy as his owners!
