well actually it is...you see water is like gravity...why cant planets orbit under and over the sun, but they orbit AROUND the sun...the planet needs to spin in order to give out the gravity lock...since the whole system is spinning all the time...

To see it another way, one could say that while on the northern hemisphere, the planet appears to be turn counter-clockwise. While when on the southern, the opposite appears to be true.

The two halves are still spinning the same direction, but relative to point of view, they are not.

That's why tornadoes/cyclones ,whirlpools and the like have opposite spin, it's the same relative to the equator, but the observer is on the opposite side of the equator.

No, I realize that you don't go upside down. I was speaking on a relative level. if you looked at the planet from above, spin would appear the same if you view something on either side of the equator (pretending you could see through the planet). That's what I meant.

Relative to the surface of the earth, yes it is opposite. If it was actually opposite though, it would imply that the hemispheres spun in axially opposite ways.

I've actually stood ON the equator and ten yards one side it goes down clockwise & ten yards the other side it goes down anti-clockwise! And you dont even have to stand on your head! LOL!
If you think about my theory what I'm saying is that in a pole shift its not the whole planet that flips in some gigantic tidal-wave creating movement, but just sub-atomic spin that changes polarity so to speak.. just think about it a bit more.

Spin is effected on the planar level, not polar.

This may cause some effect on polar strength if we cross the galactic plane, assuming that the galaxy as a whole is polarized, but it will not effect quantom spin unless some extra disturbance also occurs.

It may also cause some magnetic disturbance as we pass through the plane, if we hold to the same assumption.

You have SOME validity in your idea.

Though when you really get down to it, the spin is not opposite on the south pole as it is on the north. More precisely, the perspective of the individual viewing it is reversed. The person is upside down on the opposite pole, thus the spin is reversed relative to them.


If one was able to see through the planet from a single point to view a whirlpool on both hemispheres at the same moment, they would be spinning in the same direction.

Hmmm gee thanks.. It was actually an intuition I had after watching all the stuff about 2012. They all say our solar system crosses the galactic plane (the equator of our galaxy) & it dawned on me that when one goes across the equator that causes water to go down the plughole the other way (that's genuine BTW) so it made sense that going accross the galactic equator would have SOME effect. That was what I came up with thats all. No 'dis'-information. Just information take it or leave it.
