Building Zetsu's Plant Thing

Please Read the description!

Me and my sis made this together in our basement and it looks great! unfortunatly we missed a few shots (the cut out design, macheing, painting) but we have the final product pics of each :D

If you can't read it that fast you can always pause, if the music is annoying mute it, etc.

For those who cant read it at all here is a brief run through:

Matirials:

- 1-2 boxes or large sheets of cardboard (we used a huge U-HAUL box)

- sturdy wire or metal coat hangers

- flour and water (paper mache paste)

- newspapers

- dark green and black/very dark green paint

- duct tape, scisors, marker, paint brushes

STEP ONE:

Un-fold your box and cut into two equal sections, draw on the plant design making sure to leave shoulder space, cut the design out and remember to clean up so you dont get in trouble like we did ^^;

STEP 2:

'work' the cardboard by bending it in your hands, this makes it more flexible.

Once that is done you can start adding the wire 'boning' this is done by measuring and snipping the wire to the right lenght and bending it in between two oposite spikes so that they bend inwards. after the wire is bent in place tape it on FIRMLY!

After you have all the horizontal wires in place add the 'spines' each of ours has 2 spines (you can add more if you want). the spines run verticaly and weave over and under the horizontal wires.

STEP 3:

Time to get messy! this part is a pain to clean up so you might wanna lay out some news papper on the table first. we hung ours on a cord from a beam on the ceiling so we could do both sides at once and not have to prop it up.

Mix your flour and water till you get a thickish paste. rip the newspaper into strips and run them throught he mixture. aply strips of paper mache until covered with a fairly thin layer (dont aply to thick or it will take forever to dry).

Leave this to dry for about a day or untill it is VERY DRY! (if you are impatient it will end up with to much wet paste and not dry)

STEP 4:

repete the paper mache process, add veins and texture by rolling the newspaper into long tubes and putting them in place and putting a thin layer over them)

STEP 5: after that has dryed you can paint the base coat (we used a semi gloss acrilic called hunter green) after it is entirely painted you can use the black/darker green to mix into the wet paint around the veins, on the tips and on the inside to give it a more real look.

STEP 6:

once that is dry just put them together (we used wire to hold them in place) and put it on a zetsu's head!

PLEASE DON'T RUN OR DDR WITH THIS ON YOUR HEAD!!!!
