Actually the British didn't separate India. The people of India decided that it would be best if there was a nation just for Hindus and a nation just for Muslims.

im an american i have been to india and like all countries it has had somewhat of a depressed period of history i was there a yr ago for 3 weeks and ill never forget it people complain here in the states soo much when in reality we have everything i havent felt the same since i got back i challenge anyone who hasnt been to india to book a trip i had alot of fun....
