oh yeah and i forgot, she is seething with passion. her body constantly moved throughout the song!

she is a fantastic violinist. This concerto is one of the most difficult pieces ever written for violin and she can play this beautifully and interpret it brilliantly at that young of age. PRODIGY!

love this piece. A fine accomplishment for anyone at that age. It is a piece that requires maturity and great physical and mental stamina.

She has got a wonderful lively dancing bow, but I think this piece would service better if there were sweet-sounding instead of hasty sounding vibrato on the note at the end of prominent phases. It is intense, but with shostakovich, there's a paradox. here she has a tendency to pull through notes with too much fast heaviness in the bow. I envision this great young violinist as one who is outgrowing her young feathers and as more experience bestows her, she transforms into a beautiful swan.

you've gotta be kidding me. suwanai S**ks - she could MAYBE pull of tchaikovsky but not shostakovich. not the way shoji did.

But no doubt, she is Japanese... :) It just happened that this clip displayed her name in Kanji (Chinese characters).

In one way or another, Chinese and Japanese shared some cultures. It is an undeniable fact. They arent "totally different" cultures.

Bravissimo, Sakaya! Natural-born musician! Sakaya gave Shostakovich blood and soul. Now I can understand Shostakovich.
