All the safety features build into this laser which your laser seems to lack are there to remind you that it isn't a toy. A 150 mW pen laser with no safety features is too likely to be treated like it was a 5 mW toy. At 150 mW levels, even partial reflections can cause eye damage. Plus it has to have all that stuff to be legal.
