In years gone by men made more than the women did, so men were expected to pay for everything on a date. But today lots of women make equal to or more than the men do, so it seems fair to me that more women should be willing to pay at least half if they are able.

No. I think most dates prepare guys for thinking of themselves and their girlfriend, if they always paid for themselves, they would be more selfish and less connected with their gf. She would pay sometimes too. That's what me and my girl do...and it's been good so far.

Dutch Oven's meant to be a bad bad one.

In Spanish there is a saying, "El que invita paga", meaning he (or she) that invites, pays. Unless you agree beforehand to go Dutch. It shouldn't be decided right after you get the bill. We guys need to get our egos out of the way and if the lady insists on going Dutch, then so be it. Another "Dutch" term- dutched chocolate. No idea why it's called that. This process just makes chocolate more delicious. :-)
