    Yep, you are correct on all points. Once again, England was trying to take over the world.

    I love the French people.
    The only things I don't love about France was when it held the Papacy hostage in Avignon, and their colonialist policies towards Africa (they had them in North America too, but were far kinder to Native Americans and blacks than either the English or Spanish were. And they were a lot nicer to the Irish immigrants in Quebec than the Anglo-Nativists in New York were.).

    The French at the time had been fighting off English imperialism during the 100 years war. The Scots had recently overthrew English rule and reinstaled their own royal house. As for our Irish ancestors, They would continue to grow food for, and be cannon fodder for, England's blood thirsty army.
