Michael Flatley Lord of the dance
http://tapibogar.multiply.com/video
yeah Michael Flatley is good, but so are the rest of the dancers, I agree he is rather flambuoyant, but nevertheless do even do this kind of perfoemance takes an incredible degree of skill, energy, and most certainly stamina. It definately makes me think inpure thoughts when I see the women of riverdance and how toned their legs are; and I'll leave it at that, lol.
By kev1-4 1231974336 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHell of a show, fantastic dancers, brilliant music but Michael Flatley, a superb dancer but what a F**king poser, all that poncing around really spoils the finale.
By allanlangshaw [Affiliate User] 1210999354 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWell he is the main attraction that's why he is showing off...he is pretty annoying:-??
By Valandil00 [Affiliate User] 1210832855 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI agree...that puny chested idiot really distracts from the phenomenal show and dancing. Can't he just shut up and let the beauty of the dancers take over? His 'prancing' and showing off actually detracts from this awe inspiring performance.

im not sure what that means but he did make it wierd....he took something timeless and classic and turned it into anthing but..he looks childish up there/....like he needs to stroke his ego night after night ....whatever
I know. I mean he was kind of annoying even in Riverdance, but it didn't distract you from the dancing.
Also, in calling himself the Lord of the Dance.. isn't he essentially calling himself Jesus?.. Or is that another song...
I hate how Irish dance got so flashy because of him, and he copies the choreography that Jean Butler made. In Riverdance, he only did his own bits. That's probably why he was so... "out there".
Celtic Tiger is even worse...
"Lord of the Dance is a song, not what he calls himself. It has nothing to do with his ego. It's a song that Irish dancers learn very early in their dance training and it is familiar to all Irish dancers who are formally trained. It's imbedded in all Irish dance training, sort of like "Ring Around the Rosie" is a part of the American school children's psyche. He has never referred to himself as the "Lord of the Dance," EVER. Even though you are entitled to your opinion, why is it so strange that he is the center piece of the shows, he created them? He coreographed them, wrote the story, etc, etc. He is the principal dancer, and the main character. In Celtic Tiger he was not, he decided to let the story present itself, a very serious and important history to tell, the story of the plight of Irish people and how they progressed and grew in spite of being thoroughly oppressed. The hands to the sides is a sign of oppression to some Irish dancers. Some of them just accept it as part of the dancing history, which it is, but Michael wanted to have freedom and show Irish people that they could do what they wanted in America. And he wanted the freedom to expand step dancing himself, as an artist and creative person. In my opinion he took something that was already beautiful, and helped it to blossom into something complex, intricate, and multi-faceted. He took something very obscure and made it famous and expanded it to be something that has more depth and it means "freedom" to many people of Irish descent. I respect that as a dancer myself. I don't care if some people think he is an egomaniac, he isn't, and he is a marvelous dancer and artist. I have followed his career for many years, and he has another side to him besides the stage character anyway. He is kind to children, and is very generous. He also made Riverdance what it is today, it would have never made it this long without his input. Much of the beauty and creativity of it belongs to him, but that is another argument. (the line of dancers in front of the stage, many of the steps, hands sometimes free, all his ideas) Dancers create their own steps sometimes and it's just like someone painting something and a person copying it and saying it's theirs, it is wrong to do that. Original "Steps" come from an individual's own mind and has their personality written all over it. The rhythm patterns in dance numbers are like music. Watch Riverdance again and see if you don't see Michael's signature. Personally I love all his shows. You might like Celtic Tiger if you are a history buff, he is not the main character, nor is their a character, the story of the Irish people stands alone. It is beautifully and brilliantly done and involves dozens of world class dancers. I guarantee you those kinds of dancers want to work for him because of the caliber of entertainer he is and because his shows are so impactive and beautiful, from the music, to the costumes, to the dance steps themselves.

By cardante979 [Affiliate User] 1210466347 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeokay, so, the dancers are amazing. the music is great. the stairs are pretty darn nifty. the costumes... well, they aren't that bad. but Michael Flatley?!?! he was cool back when he really was the lord of the dance, but now, he's the lord of the prance. or maybe lord of the strut, i don't know. he's just distractin' us from the actual DANCING.
By Connaughtgirl23 [Affiliate User] 1210426139 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removehow is called this song?
By XBlackPearl1X [Affiliate User] 1210389264 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveOk I have seen that a few of you guys doesnt like Michael here. But I dont think you understand the concept in this particular Concert :D
Michael Isnt important, but the others are. And if you noticed, then the cameras werent on him on the big screns, but on those who danced.
But he also makes an atmosphere to the people watching so :D
He is actually doing his job on this one.
Hope you understand now ^^
i love the show, but flatley wrecks it in this performance, whats with all the posing etc

By cardante979 [Affiliate User] 1210120600 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIs Michael Flatley the queen prancing around in a leather pair of pants and a bull fighter jacket on with no shirt. Is this who is the lord of the dance? It would be better if he joined the line or got out of the way. His showboating sucked attention away from what is cool about this type of dance, the unity and sound of the whole group working together.
By varmintslayer1 [Affiliate User] 1209983813 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe backup dancers were incredible, Mr. Flatley himself- well, cool in the old days, but he just kind of walked :)
