Star Trek TOS: Doomsday Machine - Enhanced - Clip 1 of 2

Not sure why it posted twice, but once said here was my only intention

My all-time favorite episode!!

I have seen this episode, like many other Star Trek fans, in its entirety; however, I kept my comments on this clip alone as well made contrast to some managers attitude in today's work force. I could have elaborated more but choose not to, but diffently was not looking for a justified of the reason "why" of Decker's state of mind etc. That's on the other clips. It's just utube, a community where one can/should give their opinion/w out all this. Thumbs up or down, it really just an opinion!

Well after having his shipped having the crud knocked out of it, have his crew all die within ear shot, and be in a ship with minimum life support you expect the Commodore to have a sharp crease in his pants and a clean shave? The appearance and his demeanor are to contrast with the previous Decker you hear (cool, calm and in command) from the Constellation's log. Part of the scripting of the episode.

This guy doesn look sharp like Cap Kirk, he looks like he came out of a shelter. How spock let this drunken washed up bumb take over. "I am in command spock". Similar to what we go through on jobs today. Some folks get paid more, a Czar manager style. I'm like, hmmn, where did they get this dummy from!

i like the way the enterpise sounds like a lada starting on a cold winter morning

The CGI is not sweet, it looks fakey, and the planet killer's beam looks like fire. The old version is better. Respect the classics.

Windom is great. But my favorite is William Marshall as Dr. Richard Daystrom of M5 multitronic computer fame. Very convincing.

God, I hate these new enhancements. They look really fake, like a bad japanese special effects company got ahold of the orignal content! God, I hope the originals are still available.

i know of that but the book is wrong, spock say "it come from out side our galaxy", not from another quadrant of this galaxy.

if it was use to destroy the borg it would have won or at least do a lot of damage to them, we never heard of that from the borg and there no trace in anyway that it was use for attacking the borg.

No T.V. drama ever used music more effectively than TOS and this episode is the best example. Sol Kaplan's score for Doomsday is the best ever in television history. The subplot conflict between Spock and Decker is as powerful as the action. William Windom's performance as Decker was the best of any guest star in TOS. That said, the CGI is a downgrade. The original rock-like, planet killer was more sinister, like the shark in Jaws. This thing is about as scary as a tube of toothpaste.

WOW! This is the one episode that always put butterflies in my stomach, almost like I was there. The new effects only -uh- enhance it.

Left out one, guys. The USS Intrepid, from "The Immunity Sydrome". The Intrepid, as I am sure you remember, was manned by Vulcans.
