  • Hey mate, No ...

    Hey mate,

No idea mate.... i hear that sound also - like released air - but it seems to make the same sound upshifting...

One of my trucks is a Kenworth T908, with a fully manual Road Ranger gearbox - i'm not a big fan of these autoshift gearboxes - their okay but i prefer to be in control...
I do the same than you - double clutch but tap the gas in neutral - makes the whole gear changing much smoother and it helps mesh the gears...

    Regards from Down Under...

  • We have them ...

We have them running constantly between Geelong and Broadmeadows and have for a long time now. Aren't they trailing B-Triples between Sydney and Brisbane? I vaguely remember both SCT and Linfox pushing for them a while ago. Can only imagine the nightmare the Newell Highway would be with B-Triples.

Ride a motorbike and get over taken by a Ford B-Triple. It's utterly terrifying.
