    My apologies. I understand some starships (Intrepid class ships, in particular) have intertial dampers that allow for the ship to egress/ingress within planetary atmospheres---with the intention of landing/taking off from the surface.

    But I didn't think it was canon for ships to be built on the surface only to be launched (upon drive startup) to be finished in lower orbit around the planet.

    Good Lord I need a life. LOL

    Great job!

    But I am not a big fan of seeing starships being built on the planet surface. It just doesn't make that much sense (considering the warp drive/impluse engines are exclusively designed for space travel only---see TOS episode "Tomorrow is Yesterday").

    On a separate note, isn't there a fanon substory of a rebellion (or revolution) within Federation (that was eventually crushed) sometime in the 30th century?
