6,5x50 Arisaka has about 25% more energy than 7,62x39 so it's - for all practical purposes - intermediate cartridge, far less powerful than classic full cartridges as 7,62x54R, 8x57, .30-06, etc..

"Sturmgewehr" means "assault rifle" in german, it's rifle which named entire assault rifle category, so it's - of course - assault rifle (cal. 7,92x33).
And yes, we know who designed AK, but it wasn't matter of discussion and AK definitevly ISN'T first world fully automatic assault rifle, it was Fedorov's Avtomat (cal. 6,5 Arisaka).

Hey dumbasses They stg 44 is a sub machine gun or SMG, not an assault rifle, check it out, and the AK was made in russia by an injured tanker soldier, commander if I remember correctly, it was first commissioned in 1947, it was the world's first fully automatic assault rifle, however it used an intermediate cartridge therefore it is the first assault rifle.

thats right i forgot about the federova but still i stand by my point the stg44 was the worlds first AUTOMATIC asault rifle the federova was semi automatic and i agree that ak and stg are technically different i never said that they where the same they only copied the exterieur design

AK is technicaly very different from StG44.
