this song is great in every way. the lyrics are quite powerful, but the sound really resonates with me. i feel the lyrics would not have the same impact if it were a harder song. also the tone of the singers match very well with the sound. not sure the song would be the same if it were anyone but these guys.

heard that to, that will be amazing for both artist, chris and lajon are vocally outstanding!!!!! this song can go to so many radio formats, not just rock, lets face it, spreading out to other formats can equal success. thats what daughtry did and now look how huge they are, and they also, sold over 4.1 million albums to date. so, branch out rock artist!!!!!

for anyone who doesnt know sevendust is releasing the past to rock radio, it hits radio july 28, 2008. amazing song both have amazing vocals!!!! this will be a hit song!!!!

I definitely agree that this song has the best chance of all of the songs to get Sevendust the mainstream attention they deserve. They are my favorite band and definitely one of the most talented bands in the industry!

i think this is a good song.see sevendust is a grate band and daughtry is not bad.i think daughtry has a grate voice i just think he's the one that needs to banch off sevendust is fine the way thay are.daughtry has a radio voice and for me i'm more in to not letting the label companys distroy you kind of music..but like i said his vioce man..it's so strong and give him a band that plays harder music i bet thay would be even bigger

Yea I know of Shawn Grove, he's done an awesome job on the 7dust cd's he's worked on.
I would definetly like them to release "The Past" as a single, I'm just saying what I heard straight from Morgan.
Hopefully they changed their minds an decided they would release it as a single...lord knows it would tear up the radio charts!

Well My Cousin, Shawn Grove, told me over the phone that it will be released soon!
Shawn produced the Cd....with John and Morgan's imput!
He did all the Mixing and Engineering at Tree Sound Studios, in Atlanta area..
When I posted the origional posting, I had just hung up with my Cuz!
He and the band are Best Friends!
Why does he have to Lye?
Read the Cd Credits and Comments from all the Band Members, And you will see that his name ias all over it!
