yeah, i saw that fight, but after the knock down, ali demolished cooper so the referee had to stop the fight.
ali had more endurance than anybody at that time and before.

Ali would win, Tyson may have had the aggression and strength but Ali had Everything, thats what made him special in the ring i guess :)

Henry Cooper has every right to "make a living off the back of Ali", since he is the only man to ever knock Ali out clean. When you watch their first fight, you can clearly see that Ali (or Cassius Clay as he was then known) is knocked into another dimension by Cooper's devastating left hook. Clay is saved by the referee (who should have stopped the fight) and by Angelo Dundee who somehow revived Clay in the corner. It was this fight that convinced Liston that Clay would be an easy opponent.

That's not the point. The fact of the matter is that Sonny Liston was one of the most ferocious and strong looking heavyweights of all time. He had the look of a tank, just like Tyson in his prime. Ali (actually still Cassius Clay at the time of the first fight with Liston) on the other hand looked at the start of his pro-career like the blown-up light-heavyweight he was (similar to Michael Spinks when he fought Tyson in '88).

Patterson was a very good fighter but, he was no cultural icon.

very cool. i like the brits interpretation of boxing, they tend to be very intelligent and not so much about being wise guys.

Henry Cooper seems to makes a living off the back of Ali. Henry got smashed by aged Floyd Patterson, dont hear him talking about that as much. There is so much myth perpetuated by these programs. Liston was actually smaller than Ali.
