All of that "distilling" equipment was beer making equipment. Home brewing is legal and has been nationwide since Jimmy Carter signed it into law in 1980-81.

The "pressure container" is a 5 gallon keg once used by soft drink distributors but not any longer. You can buy these by the score on Ebay these days.

And the only danger from messing up your beer recipe is a lot of bad beer.

for years I have been intimidated living here in Georgia - so glad there are total idiots even out in the Pacific Northwest - guess the cops don't make it up to VanSterdam very often! Or know anything about brewing beer or making whiskey! They did instantly recognize that he wasn't a good person!

He was NOT making moonshine Everything he had, except the maryjane, is legal, and you'll find it all in my home too... including the "stolen" corny kegs. Those cops were dumbasses acting tough on camera And I'm surprised that even aired. I'd love to see footage of the guy and his lawyer making them all look foolish.

Especially when they can't tell a moonshine operation from a homebrew BEER setup, never mind the fact that even straight moonshine(ethyl alcohol) won't blind anyone. It's the garbage like methanol, kerosene, antifreeze, etc that prohibition-era bootleggers cut their alcohol with that blinded people. Dumb cop(s) indeed.

Only thing he did wrong. He had brass knuckles.. Plus you can not kill anyone with a bad batch of beer.. But wine is another story.
