This is the best blues solo I've ever heard. Combines the best of both feel and pure technical mastery. You can't teach this and imitating is a waste of time.

I think the reason Mitch meshed so well with Jimi was that Mitch had a jazz technique and sensibility, but was absolutely a rock and roll drummer. (And Jimi is so beautiful here.) RIP Jimi and Mitch.

every moment shows something incredibly new, while it flows all along. the phrases are so emotionally clear and vocal (on the guitar). his unique technique (fck!) is entirely integrated into his sparkling musicality.
