What if Starbucks Marketed Like a Church? A Parable.
Great satire. Thank you!!!
By LutheranLucciola [Affiliate User] 1226979971Any video making fun of church (with a lower case "c") is good to me. The Church is made of people not special songs, good speakers, or bricks.
By Andyc140 [Affiliate User] 1226975702ROFL. Did the guy just shout Java-lujah!? Oh man this vid was laughs!
By JohnEnois [Affiliate User] 1226945621By juxtaposing church and Starbucks, it is easy to see just how trivial much "church" has become: how like selling a product the practice of American religion is. This exposes both the silliness and the stupidity of much of it. I am a clergy person, by the way. I'll definitely refer to this for an example of how NOT to greet and "welcome" people.
By jacket06 [Affiliate User] 1226944321This is great! I pray that church leaders will see this and embrace needed change.
By mourning2dancing [Affiliate User] 1226928931Weird I don't really like church or coffee. This video was hilarious.
By DeteriorationDevil [Affiliate User] 1226905917flipping brilliant
By mattsiev [Affiliate User] 1226820701i hate "coffe shops" like this. they might be serving good "java" but how can someone that never "drinks coffee" ever learn to like it?
not a very funny vid when you think about how many people feel SO akward at church.
WOW am i thankful for my church!
thats because people are finally getting smarter
By drumguy2007 [Affiliate User] 1226779473I laughed and cringed. I would make a caveat that the purpose of a church and a Starbucks are very different. Starbucks exists to sell a product. The Church exists to proclaim the gospel in word and deed.
Still, the critique is spot on. I sent this to my Council and committee chairs.
ouch! Funny, but ouch!
