Mercedes 190E 16V at Motorvision Classic

is it the engine is lacking torgue or is it just the weight of the car that is holdin it back?

yea it is old i still love it though but .
the honda engine was made at the same time as this car 1987 onwards and it has 100 bhp per litre with no turbo or supercharger i dont think there are many if any mercedes engines that can achieve this without a supercharger
a nisssan sr20 engine would be a good engine swap for this car

but 190 is old. compare the e200 w211 1.8 with honda. you will find mercedes power :)

i have the RHD version it has 185 bhp ~ and compared to other cars i have owned in a straight line its slow
e.g i got beaten by a Vr6 on top end power in every gear but out handled him
its not a very advanced engine compared to its jap counterparts of that era eg the the honda b16 1.6 that makes 170 bhp std

i think it has 230hp its 4 cyl 16v.
