  • I know what you ...

I know what you mean about how the surgery room in the doctor's office looks unsterile, but it was sterile. You can even hear the doctor giving us instructions on where to stand and where to keep our hands. I also know what you mean about your foot looking big still. I think it took my foot about 4 month before the swelling was completely gone. It looked pretty good about 8 weeks after surgery, but even better a couple months after that. It will happen and you will be happy!

  • It was about $2,000 ...

It was about $2,000 cheaper than having it done in the hospital. I went to a podiatrist and would recommend that anybody considering having a bunionectomy do the same. An orthopedic surgeon performed a bunionectomy on this same foot 20 years before this one, and it was obviously not a successful surgery. I am very happy to say that this surgery was 100% successful!

  • Thank you for ...

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I had a pretty good experience with this surgery. I used very little Vicodin for pain management for the first week following surgery. I kept my foot elevated and used ice to help keep the swelling down. It is important to follow the doctor's instructions on how much time you spend on your foot following surgery. I went back to work one week after surgery but had to keep my foot elevated. I have a very nice straight foot now!

  • First of all I am ...

First of all I am really surprised by how many people view these videos. I did not realize the number of people that I could help by sharing my experience. This surgery was very successful. I received full medical release in May, and I went white water rafting to celebrate. Much to my surprise my feet were still tender, but I still had fun. I was able to have a very active summer with backpacking, camping, drift boating on the River, Missions trip to Mexico. I am very glad I had it done.
