Julie, an expert fisher lady, caught a keeper fluke this afternoon at Magnolia Pier, Long Beach. Armed with a herring rig from last year, I tried my luck for the first time this year at the pier. If you don't have live bait, a herring rig is all you need. Just move your pole up and down and the snappers will bite. Julie is a tough act to follow. Maybe I'll persuade her to show us some of her fishing secrets. I'm sure it's more than just luck.
