10. A person who is arrested, must be physically detained for transportation to take place.

No, the enemy is a modernized air force with fighters capable of taking out most other gen 4 aircrafts. Most modernized Sukhoi fighters are exceptional aircraft which will absolutely require a fighter such as the Typhoon to deal with. Combine this with Russia's known plans for military expansion and you most certainly do justify a fighter as capable as the Tiffy. Another Cold War could be just around the corner.

You can't really compare any American things to anything else since they use everyone else's technology. I'm not saying their incapable, just they require a collective to produce something outstanding.

Increasingly, the arms market is being narrowed down to a few major players & it is not unlikely that one day a US pilot might have to contend with an enemy in US-built aircraft. Of course, it wouldn't have the advanced avionics that the US military keeps for itself and does not sell to foreign powers.

Dunno if I'd go THAT far. As an example, I keep coming back to the F-14 deal the US struck with Iran back in the 70s. I'm quite sure back then that the thought of a US pilot ever having to face a Tomcat in real combat was inconceivable.

Sure, today's Iranian F-14s aren't much of a threat w/o US supplies/support, but the threat was there for a while.

It's the Globalization of the War Industry. Soon there'll be a MIG factory in Tennessee and an F-22A factory in Brazil. Both operating under Japanese management.

The US sells its fighters all over the world, so there's a high probability that they might face each other one day. A country would hamstring itself by designing a fighter to work together with or compliment a foreign power's fighters. In the end, it's all about marketing & sales.

We haven't flown jets in Red flag yet. Typhoons have only taken part in Green flag (this year) which is an air to surface excercise.

During the Red flag you lot are reffering to, Typhoon wasn't even declared operational.

As for the Typhoon v Raptor arguement, grow up troops. The aircraft have been designed to work together and compliment each other, not fight each other. We don't know which will win yet, both have advantages over each other. Grow up and get a grip.
