Hi again...to have pure kno3 powder you dissolve it in water,then filter it and you boil it untill its powder again???

lol its purfectly fine to gring black powder, unless your useing something that sparks. its not friction senctive at all.

If you have a ball mill, believe me, don't waste your time using the mortar and pestle. It's very hard comparing to the milling.

Why ? You can dissolve only the KNO3 in water. Charcoal and sulfur can't be dissolved.

disregard the last comment, but grinding all of those together by hand is somewhat foolish. look in to the "cia method"

note: all that grinding is a waste as everything will be dissolved and recrystallized anyway.
