Wow. That's a better preformance than I've ever seen, and I've been watching these videos for a week! I especially like her enunciation and the ability to actually understand what she's saying.

Bravo Diana , you're the best.

What a VOICE! She's marvelous! There are only a few coloratura sopranos on the world who are able to sing that aria in this perfection.

  • The Queen and her ...

The Queen and her minions look like the Bene Gesserit sisters from the movie "Dune"! Damrau is a new favorite of mine. Barring any disasters, she will be one of our great operatic divas. The coloratura here cannot compare to those of Serra, Gruberova or Popp in this role. Nonetheless, it was good enough and her acting is really stunning in its subtlety and nuances. Brava!

Stunning! I think Frau (Fraulein?) Damrau may be even better than Lucia Popp! (that's a long time ago, for you youngsters *chuckle!*) Damrau absolutely *becomes* the Queen . . . and is absolutely "scary", in all the senses of the word! :-D
