it was announced in our newspaper that Mark will be coming to play in Atlanta in June at a medium size venue. It's not on his official website yet, but I can hope. He is listed to play in Oregon abd a few other US cities.

Rolling Stone #27 best guitarist? That's beyond stupid. Show me ANY guitarist in history as good as MK. It simply doesn't get any better than MK, and I'm sure Clapton and Richards would agree. I've lost respect for Rolling Stone to say the least.

It's absurd that Rolling Stone put Knopfler only at #27 on the top 100 best guitarists. Keith Richards got #10 he S**ks !

I really love both Mark Knopfler and Jimi Hendrix. As (amateur) guitarist, Knopfler is my virtual master because I have listened to his records (and work on guitar his songs) so many times that you can't count them!
But, you can not say that Hendrix is over rated!!! Hendrix is THE MASTER of electric guitar and his effects, he symbolize an historical revolution in guitar playing!!!
I don't want to choose between them!!! So, I would rather say that Knopfler is sooooooooo underrated !!!

You are 100% correct, no other guitar player in history comes close ! btw i think that hendrix was a good showman be as a genuine guitar great he is sooooooooooo overated !
