Salem Al-Amry talks on a very important subject that every muslim needs to know and that is - the Status of Sunnah in Islam. He explains why we should follow the sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam as we are to follow the Qur'an, the book of Allah subhana wa ta'ala.
Shaikh Salim al-Amry is from the United Arab Emirates. He is a Computer Engineer by profession, however has spent a major part of his youth studying under different scholars. He has taken the effort to obtain knowledge of the different sciences of Islam including Aqidah, Usool, Hadeeth, Fiqh, Tafseer, Arabic language and more. His teachers include: Shaikh Ali Khashshan and Shaikh Mahmood 'Atiyyah, who were two of the first students of Shaikh Albani and under both Shaikh Salim studied Aqidah.
I am telling this person who obviously desires only to cause fitnah that Islam is the Qur'an AND the Sunnah. If something is posted that he or she does not like, don't watch it.
Allah revealed Islam for us to follow not for us to criticize and reject. The Deen is complete, if it is not satisfactory, find something else and leave the truth to those who are satisfied with it. If someone wishes to call themself a Muslim, then they have to do Islam, which is the Qur'an and the Sunnah.
It is not for you to turn anyone away from the Islamic faith. Allah guides who he will...it is not for mortals to tell others to find a different belief.
Where a fellow muslim is unable ti understand or is learning...it is your job to convey the message not to speak harshly when questioned about our faith. Allah gives guidance and Allah is a faith of peace.
apologies....my previous comment should have read guidance and not fuidance...this was a spelling error. Allah is merciful and most forgiving.
By allowed2voice [Affiliate User] 1220100613 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAllah gives us guidance and judges us for all our good deeds and our bad.
As a fellow muslim, we are not thee to judge another...that role is left to our almighty...hence I quote your comment " Like it or not, you are both from a sect, and it seems to be the same sect." We have no evidence of such and it is best left to Allah to decide what is best. The Quran gives us fuidance as to right and wrong not mere mortals.
Shia or Sunni hadith are not relevant terms. the Hadith is either authentic or it is not authentic.

By bowyerman [Affiliate User] 1219989877 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove"WHO ARE YOU???" The answer to this question is as relevant as me asking you. You have no basis for your claim that the Qur'an is the only source that we are allowed to use, or that it is Shirk to read or implement anything from Sahih Al-Bukhari. You ask yourself who you are.
By bowyerman [Affiliate User] 1219989803 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove"You are a blind follower and you are not quoting from Allah`s book which is the criteria of what we do." I have quoted from Allah's book and you have chosen to disregard it because it is inconvenient for you.

I am trying not to curse and I am using an appropriate term to describe what you are doing. The Shia have every reason they need to do things the way they do them. No matter what evidence is given, they have a reason not to take it. Your group is new to the world. For 800 years the Muslims were strong, now we are weak. It is because of Muslims following their desires rather than Humbling themselves before Allah.

By bowyerman [Affiliate User] 1219988978 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveOne thing to add to your statement It is like asking the Chrisitans to find the phrase "Jesus is god in the Bible". The Bible clearly states that there is no saviour except God. The Bible also states that the Lord is one. So when a Christian says that Jesus is God or that God is three, the Bible refutes that completely. You are rejectin the Sunnah of the Prophet (Sal-Allahu Alayhi wa-Salam) because a specific english translation has not been found by you yet. Is it worth the risk?
By bowyerman [Affiliate User] 1219988911 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYou have to prove the hadith that existed right after the death of the Prophet (Sal-Allahu Alayhi wa-Salam) is different than what is written down today. Remember, the ulema, after memorizing the Qur'an, they begin memorizing the hadith . . .Starting with Sahih Al-Bukhari, and then Sahih Muslim.
By bowyerman [Affiliate User] 1219988740 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove"they manitpulate those verses in order to justify their claim"... EXACTLY WHAT YOU DO" You have quoted verses from a translation of the Qur'an that are not applicable to what you are saying. I have. You asked were does it say to follow the Prophet and i gave you that (64:12). By the way, the translations of the Qur'an ALL of them, are translated by referencing the Sahih Hadith in order to convey the proper meaning of them. Do you read and understand the Arabic text?
By bowyerman [Affiliate User] 1219974967 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove"DO YOU KNOW BEST? OR ALLAH?" This is a good question. Did you ask yourself this question about yourself? Allah is the one who is in charge of this Deen. Allah prohibits division in the Qur'an, but does not prohibit collecting, grading, and studying hadith. Allah is the one who guides, you have to consider the possibility that Allah has guided the collectors of Hadith, just as Allah has guided those who collected all of the scattered verses of the Qur'an and put them between two covers.
By bowyerman [Affiliate User] 1219974706 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove"that the majority of the Muslims over the past 1400 years are off track, but YOU aren't?" My question is what makes you so confident that hadith reading is Shirk? The Qur'an was not revealed all at once, did you know that? If you did, the only way to know that is with Sahih Hadith. These Hadith explain the circumstances surrounding the reason for each verse being revealed. We are able to judge for ourselves what is correct, Allah will judge where we go after that! Is it worth the risk?
By bowyerman [Affiliate User] 1219974377 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveTo follow what people who claim to be scholars say just because they claim it is truth would be blind following. The Qur'an refutesthis when the Mushrikeen are addressed with the question will you abandon these idols and worship Allah alone with no partners? And the response is always we will follow what we found our fathers following. this means that blindly following something because it sounds good or because your neighbours are watching is not acceptable. When did YOU become the judge?
By bowyerman [Affiliate User] 1219974034 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYou have also asked "just beacuse a few scholars tell you they are the prophets sayings, you follow the scholars." These scholars have devoted their lives to understanding the Qur'an and the Sunnah. They can back up almost everything they say. They are also human being which means they make mistakes, just like you and I. This is why one scholar should never be devoted to, rather the consensus of scholars should be adhered to. This is only applicable if they are upon what is free of defect.
By bowyerman [Affiliate User] 1219973808 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIt is required in all the credible Islamic Universities to learn the methodology of grading Hadith. Do I beleive that the scholars of today are upon the same track as those of 1400 years ago? Yes, but only those who do not contradict the Qur'an and they use the Hdith that are Sahih. Remember, if the hadith contradicts the Qur'an, it is bnot Sahih, therefore it is not acceptable.
By bowyerman [Affiliate User] 1219973292 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIs it not possible that Allah guided these scholars and preserved the Sunnah in this way? One of your responses was saying that the Qur'an does say to follow the Messenger, but the Messenger is no longer with us. Allah claims in the Qur'an that only he has knowledge of things to come. Don't you think that Allah knew there would be a need to preserve the Sunnah after ordering the Sahabah to follow the Rasul? Is it possible the Sunnah is preserved by Hadith that don't contradict the Qur'an?
By bowyerman [Affiliate User] 1219973091 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveSahih hadith do not contradict the Qur'an. If they did, they cannot be Sahih. 1400 years ago the Sahabah and the Tabi'een were teaching the Qur'an and the Sunnah. When contradictions started to show up in peoples statements, several scholars started to document and categorize these statements in order to ensure that the Sunnah be preserved. Imam Bukhari prayed Istikhara prayer before every Hadith he put into his collection. That is close to 10 000!
By bowyerman [Affiliate User] 1219972769 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIt does not say in the Qur'an to NOT follow the Sunnah of the Prophet (Sal-Allahu Alayhi wa-Salam). It is a test from Allah, just like ecverything else. There is nothing in the Sahih Hadith that claims the Qur'an is to be put aside if it contradicts what is in the narrations. By the way, the Prophet (Sal-Allahu Alayhi wa-Salam) ordered his lierate companions to write down the verses as they were being revealed. Abu Bakr ordered that they be compiled in between two covers.

By bowyerman [Affiliate User] 1219951125 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThere is a verse that I posted 64:12. It clearly sstates OBEY ALLAH, OBEY THE MESSENGER. In the Prophets farewell Hajj Khutbah, the Prophet (Sal Allahu Alayhi wa Salam) clearly ordered the sahabah to convey these statements to those who are not present. What you are saying is that the Sahabah, and everyone else that is contained in those chains are liars. Do you expect me to believe that you are truthful but those who Allah reffered to as the best nation ever are liars? Answer my 1st post!
By bowyerman [Affiliate User] 1219951006 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAs of yet, my original qeustion has not yet been answered. It was my original post. Both of you (raj7171 and now Harband1) are responding in the EXACT way that those from other "sects" respond. Like it or not, you are both from a sect, and it seems to be the same sect. Those who have divided always emphasize what they have divided upon before anything, and they always misuse and misrepresent everything. Sahih Al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim do not contradict the Qur'an.
By bowyerman [Affiliate User] 1219950558 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveNo matter what proof you are given, you will bring whatever you feel like to say it is not correct. When you bring your own proof, they are always verses from the Qur'an that are not applicable to what is being asked (ex:you used verse 48:23 to justify the prayer existing before the Qur'an, but this verse as well as the 3 verses before it are Allah's words describing how He brings victory to the believers). As of yet, you still have not answered the above question. It is simple math: 1+1=2
