I think it's cool i do wood turning and im always looking for new ways to do it faster or better. This is a tool it won't hurt your hobby or trade skill. If you want to do it the hand crafted way that's fine too. Don't let a machine scare you.

I fail to understand why you do not consider a product from a person who owns one of these machines a piece of art... Just because a machine carves the final product? Does the user not create the item before it is carved?

I am sure there are many graphic artists that would argue that something they created on the computer and printed out would still be considered art.

what a piece of S**t ive been carving for over 20 yrs professionally and self employed doing this craft you want to carve go buy some gouges and learn ooh by the way i own a printer does that make me a artist when a picture comes out crap!
